Thursday Morning Activity

Our Thursday morning activity has changed from visiting Glen Canyon in the morning, to going golfing at the Lake Powell Golf Course. The general admission price is $52 for 18 holes. They have tee time deals that bring the price down to around $30 a person. We can coordinate times on Wednesday night when everyone is there.

For those who don't want to go golfing, we will have other options available. Some can visit Glen Canyon, some of the women have mentioned getting manicures/pedicures together, or you can do anything else you'd like to do. You are always welcome to go to the lake whenever you'd like, too.

Ashleigh will be contacting everyone via phone to confirm that you are aware of your meal and activity assignments. We are less than a month away, friends!

Meal Chart and Activities

Our reunion is approaching quickly! Here is a chart with the meal and entertainment assignments. 

On Thursday morning we will be visiting Glen Canyon. For more information click here. If you don't feel like this is something you can do, that's ok! No pressure to join. More information will come on this adventure! 

Friday morning will be our boating activity. We will have skis, a tube, and a wake board. You are welcome to rent anything else you'd like to on your own. We are getting our boat from Water World. Click here for more rental information.

Every family has been assigned a meal to cook. Please plan on feeding 35 people. You will need to provide the paper goods and plasticware. We will have an evening activity each night. We have assigned this as well. 

There are grocery stores in Page and plenty of room in our houses for cooking and eating.

Water Activities

We are reserving Friday, July 18th to be our boating day! We are renting a ski boat that seats 8 - 10 people along with a tube, wake board, and adult skis. We are renting from Lake Powell Water World (http://www.lakepowellwaterworldinc.com/index.htm). They have a lot of other fun things to rent if you are interested!

We apologize for the recent changes in venue, but we have done much research and believe that this change will provide us with better opportunities to enjoy the lake and all it has to offer and will better meet our needs. As you can see above, our living arrangements will be a bit nicer than the previous condos selected. We’ll also be staying in a more densely populated city - Page, AZ! There are grocery stores, restaurants, and everything we need to have an enjoyable stay.

Lodging:

            We’ll be renting 4 vacation homes, all of which are owned by the same property manager in Page, AZ. They are very close to the Colorado River, just near the Glen Canyon Dam (which you can see from the balcony), and only a short drive away from the lake. Two of the homes have 4 bedrooms and the other two have 3 bedrooms. Total sleeping accommodations = 40 (14 bedrooms, 10 full baths, 4 half baths). The lot is large enough for a tent so our campers will have a place, too! The properties are within walking distance of each other, so coordinating plans and large meals will be more convenient.

Cost:

            The totals I’ve calculated include everyone (including infants for rental/insurance purposes), though we’ve had some people say they will not be able to join us. So with 44 people attending (including infants), the cost is $167.00* a person for the 4 day, 3 night stay. The cost is comparable to our previous arrangements – it was $978.51 for each condo; now it’s $835.00 for a family of 5 – additionally, it’s in a better location with proximity to stores, medical care, etc. (*note that this price is only for the lodging and does not include entertainment or food costs – future posts will discuss those items – see http://www.visitpagelakepowell.com/ for ideas!).

This will be the final change in venue. We need a final decision if you can attend! Pam has paid half of the cost up front and will pay the remaining balance by July 1^st. Please send a check made out to Pam Nophsker for $167.00 x # of people in your family by April 30^th (so we can pay off our cards within the month!)

Once again, we appreciate your understanding with the changes. It took time for us to take into consideration all of the many suggestions made (and this IS my first rodeo!) We appreciate the help and we feel now that this will be the best location for us. Hopefully we all understand that with our ever-increasing group of people, it’s hard to accommodate every need, so if we are not able to make it perfect for your circumstances, I hope you will not take offense. We're greatly looking forward to seeing everyone!

Booking Deadline!

Hello family!

Maybe you've had some time to check out the accomodation options, but I know we're all busy :). To prevent confusion with deposits or transferring money, we'd like everyone to be responsible for selecting and booking their own rooms.
A bit about the accomodations:
Family Units - 1,000 square foot house units with 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a living area, and a kitchen. 3 queen size beds + a couch bed, so each unit can sleep 8 adults.
They average about $300 a night. So, for the Donner/Elliott's we'll book 1 unit for 4 days/3 nights and share it between all of us at a cost of about $125 a person.

Defiance House Lodge - Hotel rooms with 2 queen beds. Each room runs $150 a night and can sleep up to 4.

We'd like to have all accomodations booked by the end of February. Hopefully that will give everyone time to get finances in order. Here's a basic rundown of our reunion information:

Location: Bullfrog Marina, Lake Powell, UT

Dates: Wednesday, July 16th - Saturday, July 19th 2014

Accommodations: Family Units (3 bedroom/2 bath/kitchen/living room) or Campgrounds with restrooms, shower access, and RV hook-ups

Each family unit has 3 bedrooms with a queen bed in each and a couch bed in the living area, so you can decide what works best for your family.
